Hi Friends! It’s Laura. Join me (and my dog!) as we travel locally around Washington State, around the Northwest, and occasionally abroad. I love National Parks, cozy mysteries, glitter, and trashy television.
While I live in Seattle, I travel quite a bit for work and for fun around the US. In 2024, I flew over 75,000 miles and spent more than sixty nights on the road. That is professional level traveler.

In 2016, I fell in love with the US National Parks, our country’s greatest idea. I’ve visited more than twenty so far, with at least three new ones on the docket for the new year, plus more visits to Washington’s North Cascades, Olympic and Mt. Rainier National Parks.
Locally, I look for dog-friendly or outdoorsy activities so my trusty pup can join me in and around Seattle/Puget Sound.
I also love traveling internationally, and have been lucky enough to visit Europe several times in the past few years, including a week long cycling trip through Alsace and hiking in the Swiss Alps. Getting off the beaten path in London to me means cycling through Hertfordshire or following in Jane Austen’s footsteps in Bath.
Those that follow me on HFIL have similar interests – she is usually a solo traveler looking for hikes or cafes to bring her dog. She does not travel full time, and when she does travel, she has more than a hostel or couch-crashing budget. My followers demand content, and I comply by posting tens of stories a month. My followers also appreciate my dry sense of humor.
